Hyrule Warriors Exclusive Costume Sets – GameStop, Best
Posted August 19, 2014 by pinkqueen2014 pinkqueen2014
GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon, three of the largest gaming vendors in the US have been pulling out all of the stops to get behind Hyrule Warriors, the upcoming Dynasty Warriors/ The Legend of Zelda crossover on Wii U. Specifically, each one of these retailers will be offering exclusive pre-order bonuses to fans to sway their decision. The bonus contents we’ll be getting our hands on will feature women halloween costumes unique to each store, pulled straight from classic Zelda titles. Exciting!

GameStop exclusive costumes will be drawing on the more nostalgic Zelda fans. Their bonus pack will feature additional outfits that will replicate the Link and Zelda featured originally in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, realised in 1998 for N64. Ocarina of Time is frequently heralded as one of the greatest games ever made, so I can imagine GameStop will be pulling in some massive pre-order figures from these beautiful additions.

In contrast to the classic kitty cat costume you’ll find at GameStop, Best Buy will be sending out some more recent garb for our heroes. Exclusive Skyward Sword outfits will be offered there for pre-orders. The 2011 Legend of Zelda title for Wii features a slightly more washed out, but more homely classic tunic outfit for Link, and a simplistic pink dress for Zelda.

My favourite of three has to Amazon‘s Twilight Princess edition costumes, however. These dark, heavily embellished outfits could be found on a more mature Link/Zelda, from back in 2006 on Gamecube and Wii. The looks have a certain sinister and more powerful air about them.

Where-ever you decide to pre-order your copy of the game, you’ll have the opportunity to get your hands on some additional codes for The Legend of Zelda‘s ultimate big bad boss, the demon thief Ganondorf. All you have to do is register your copy of Hyrule Warriors by October 23rd on Club Nintendo and you’ll receive some additional black cat costume for the playable villain.

I’m usually not a massive fan of pre-order bonuses, but in this instance I can be swayed. I’m definitely a sucker for outfit options – if I could, I’d probably get all three sets.

Redford costume designer looks forward to work after ca

Bernadine Vida, photographer, and costumer for movies, theater, television and dance, recently started a new venture: overcoming breast cancer.

The life-long Redford resident has approached her surgical recovery and chemotherapy as she would many of her creative projects. She has plans in the works to design

her own head caps and like any good project manager, she is attentive to her budget. In its first week, her GoFundMe campaign has raised $1,350 of the $5,000 she

requested to help with medical expenses. She also sought support from The Pink Fund and Pink Ribbon Riders to help with household expenses until she can get back on

her feet and working full time.

"When I first learned I had it,it was a shock,"said Vida, who noticed a lump in her left breast while working as the women halloween costume designer on a cruise ship near Australia. She followed up with her doctor when she returned home in March and then took on a guest artist

residency at the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids where she coordinated a student fashion show in conjunction with the Grand Rapids Film Festival.

While she was in Grand Rapids, her doctor called, asking her to return home to hear test results and a diagnosis.

Treatment called for a mastectomy, chemotherapy and a few weeks of radiation, followed by breast reconstruction.

"My son and I walked around for a few days like zombies and cried. Then something kicked in after a couple of days of getting over the initial shock ... it washes

through the system and all of a sudden something in me clicks,"said Vida, explaining her generally upbeat attitude."I don't know what is going to happen next year or

the next five months, but I don't want to sit around being horrified and waste opportunities and time. I want to do more teaching, more lecturing. I want to travel more

and do more of my photography.”

After finishing
halloween cat costumes for the 2012 film,The Citizen,Vida began traveling the

world, designing and making sexy panda costume for performers on cruise ships. She also

photographed the countries she visited. Her photography is available at her Foreignography website, and at her Etsy

shop,,which also offers pillows, sleep masks, skirts and other items for sale.

Let's Be Cops Puts on a Costume and Pretends to Be a Bu
Posted August 15, 2014 by pinkqueen2014 pinkqueen2014
When you put a pair of losers in uniforms, at the end of the day they're still losers. Best friends and roommates Justin (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Ryan (Jake Johnson)

learn that the hard way but not without finding some joy in the fantasy that you can become the success you had always hoped to by just slipping on some aviators and

buying a police car off eBay. Easy is the theme and reality of Let's Be Cops. As the pair slides into fake lives and real danger, the movie glides on the formula of

buddy cop films, putting on those tropes just like Justin and Ryan putting on cop gear. As a film, Let's Be Cops glides in the same way its characters do. Though it

charms, it's difficult to ignore how many times we've seen this story played out before.

At 30, the friends are Midwesterners struggling to find success in Los Angeles. Ryan is the Deadbeat Loser, still living off the money he made from a herpes commercial

two years ago and playing football with preteens to relieve the pain of never making it to the NFL. Justin is the Weak Loser, an assistant at a video game company, who

is infantilized by his douchebag boss and unable to sell his video game idea, aptly titled Patrolman. In keeping with the trend of awful life choices, they mistake a

college reunion masquerade for a midsummer women halloween costume party and come dressed in the Patrolman sexy polar bear costume Justin happens to have lying around their apartment. Once they walk

down the street with their badges shining and (unloaded) guns holstered, this dejected pair feel like superheroes, suddenly able to control pedestrians with a flick of

the hand -- and, better still, get revenge on the mobsters who had hit their hoopty the night before. (That squad is led by James D'Arcy, looking like rapper Riff Raff

without the cornrows and gold teeth.)

Like the video games Justin designs and the college football stardom Ryan refuses to abandon, the fantasy becomes a shield from the realities of their inadequacies.

They bring to life everything they've learned from cop movies, where the heroes yell cool shit like "Yippee-ki-yay" and always get the girl. After 22 Jump Street

ripped to shreds the formula of a buddy cop film, it's difficult to not side-eye the perfect mold Let's Be Cops casts itself in. Per usual, an odd couple struggle to

mesh together as a team, find their bearings, encounter dangers, have a falling-out, then transform into heroes, saving the day and one another. The familiarity proves

a distraction. Will anyone be surprised when the tone shifts from a loser's dreamworld of living in an action movie to an actual action movie?

It doesn't help that the film falls victim to the same gay and race jokes that goofball bromances have such a hard time shaking. The shots are cheap and usually taken

by Wayans, as Justin, at himself, who is -- surprise -- portrayed as having some effeminate qualities. Early on, he punches Ryan for "sneaking up on a brother." Later,

love interest Josie (Nina Dobrev) notes that Justin's "limp wrist" might be why he's reluctant to commit. Self-deprecation is a little unnecessary when the film's

premise is two dudes failing so hard in their lives that they become fake police officers.

As always, the genre depends upon consistency. Though both Wayans and Johnson are rehashing some nuances of their New Girl buds in the characterizations of Justin and

Ryan, the pair work well with and off one another. They weave in and out of being one another's straight man and are equally agile at both. It's comforting watching

the prime-time friends together in the blockbuster, but it was disappointing to see any edginess the comfortable chemistry allowed room for not taken advantage of.

Rob Riggle, continuing his streak playing comedy film cops, offers the biggest surprise, nailing the role of an action hero–type character, distinguished by slick

coolness. (After playing so many joke cops, he was due!) Keegan Michael-Key, with Lil Wayne dreads and face tattoos, is wonderful as the key to unlocking what the

mobsters are smuggling. He offers the biggest laughs, alongside Johnson's running gag of self-promoting his fake cop from officer to sergeant to detective.

A loser in a uniform is still a loser, and a stock buddy cop film starring a popular pair of sitcom stars is still a stock buddy cop film. Where movies like The Heat

or even 21 Jump Street make the formula feel like new, Let's Be Cops and its meta-fantasy of the way games and films inform our idea of excitement comes off as watered

down. Though the film has some charm, it's just like any of us who pretends to be something we're not: You can only fool everyone else for so long.

Cops are using information in the fight against unscrupulous Spidermen and Cookie Monsters in Times Square.

The NYPD began a campaign Saturday to alert visitors to the Crossroads of the World that they don’t have to tip sexy polar bear costume characters who offer to take photos with

“Photos with women halloween costume characters are free,” read a flyer cops began handing out at Times Square on Saturday. “Tipping is optional.”

Police said the campaign is also directed at the halloween cat costumes horde, some of whom have spurred a flurry of complaints that they are shaking down tourists for tips of

anywhere from $5 to $20. A few of the characters have been arrested on charges including assault and groping.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton has backed a bill that proposes to force the costume-wearers to register with the city.
